“Come as you are, and leave as you want to be”

As a teacher and therapist, I have spent my working life supporting people in finding growth and fulfillment by helping them to enhance their skills, or to learn new ones.  Early on, I realized that I have a talent for motivating, empowering, encouraging, supporting, and guiding others to realize their personal visions for living the best life possible. The threads that run through the tapestry of my life's work are encouraging creativity, resourcefulness, empathy, flexibility, loving-kindness, humor, adventure, authenticity, hard work, embracing change, problem-solving, courage, and enthusiasm. I have always believed that people already have what they need inside them, it is a matter of uncovering it, embracing it, and putting it to use. My motto as a therapist is:  Come as you are, and leave as you want to be.

Individual Counseling

During individual therapy, I am fortunate to be invited into people's lives to share opportunities to address emotional and behavioral difficulties.  I work collaboratively with you using interventions best suited to your needs.  I have extensive training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and a lifetime of mindfulness practice to share. I also incorporate other approaches to positively treat trauma and PTSD, bereavement, borderline personality disorder, depression, anxiety, and other life issues.  I bring a lifetime of experience to my work that allows me to practice with great care and understanding without judgment. My approach for positive change is to offer my skills to you to help you read your own blueprints for a self-constructed life.
