I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Western Washington University who has been offering mental health services to our local community since 2019 in a variety of settings. I have provided outpatient services to adults, children, and families and I have experience working with youth (ages 13-20 years) in a wraparound intensive services model while assisting them through life transitions. I am also a 200 HR certified yoga teacher with a passion for mindful movement and body awareness.

The cornerstone of my therapeutic work is a person-centered approach with the belief that human beings are inherently trustworthy, capable, and hold an innate ability to move towards healing when they are supported in doing so. Attachment theory also greatly informs my approach in sessions, as our early life experiences can significantly impact how we interact with others and the world around us. In sessions, I utilize a combination of evidence-based practices including but not limited to cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing (MI). I frequently apply interventions from narrative therapy, expressive arts therapy, strengths-based approaches, mindfulness, and self-compassion as well.

As your therapist, I am here to provide a caring and trusting environment to assist you in your own self-exploration and problem solving with a bit of professional help along the way. From the first session, my focus is establishing a strong therapeutic alliance. Then we’ll work together to explore what tools and techniques are fitting to you and your life story that may help you reach your personal goals, overcome presenting challenges and mend past scars. 


Adolescents

Adolescence is a transformative time that does not come without challenges. Exploring self-identity, gaining independence, navigating unfamiliar roles, and forming new relationships is not an easy feat! I am here to provide a non-judgmental, collaborative, and caring space to teens. Operating from a strengths-based perspective, I am will help you to identify personal strengths and foster resiliency to life’s challenges. A family-systems approach also informs my work as we are inextricably connected with others in our immediate environment. Whatever your current life circumstance may be, I am here to meet you where you are at.
