We offer Massage in Bellingham with experienced Licensed Massage Therapists (LMP) that cater to clients who might have additional emotional needs. If you struggle with fear or anxiety, shyness or body shame issues, our massage therapists have a specialized understanding of how to make you feel comfortable and safe. Massage is an incredibly powerful form of healing that is often only appreciated for it's one aspect of the ability to work with physical issues originating in the soft tissue through therapeutic pressure and touch. However, King Health offers the difference of massage with a unique focus on mental and emotional health that compliments the positive effects on the phsyical body. Our massage therapists offer the combination of comfort and professionalism with expertise in massage techniques such as Swedish, CranioSacral, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Neuromuscular Therapy, Sports or Work Injury massage. Fun Fact: Research shows the mental health benefits of massage to be comparable with talk therapy for depression and anxiety. We see massage as a complimentary treatment that can greatly aid in any mental health therapy, and are eager for our clients to feel the long-term benefits of having both approaches be an integral part of their mental health toolkit.
Our Massage Therapists
At King Health Associates we take great care to select our massage therapists for their emotional awareness and sensitivity, for their ability to recognize and handle emotionally triggered states, in addition to the typical extensive knowledge and skills you expect from a professionally trained massage therapist. We have selected our massage therapists for their broad range of styles and specialties, each with their own particular style of massage, and who compliment each other well. While we will refer clients to a particular massage therapist based on our evaluation of your needs and their matching styles, we fully encourage you to try each one to find the therapist who you feel is the perfect match for you.
Emotional Issue Awareness
Our patient and caring massage therapists will guide you at a pace that is comfortable for you, through a wonderfully safe and fulfilling experience while explaining every step along the way. Your feelings of comfort and safety are a priority for us. If you have been avoiding getting a massage due to fear or anxiety, we encourage you to come to us to discover for yourself just how safe and comforting it can be.
Massage For Everyone
Of course you don't need to be a mental health client to take advantage of our wonderfully empathic massage therapists. Massage therapy can be used as a stand-alone treatment for relaxation, injury, help with posture correction, release tight muscles, lessen the effects of physical stress and so on.
Tipping And Gifts
Our clinical policies and licensing ethical standards require that we do not accept tips or gifts in return for any of our services. Please do not offer or leave gratuities. If you wish to, you can donate to a charity of your choice in our name. Thank you for your understanding.
We are currently only accepting Premera and Lifewise insurance for massage at this time. If you intend to use your insurance benefits for massage we require a prescription from your doctor, prior to your massage appointment, with a diagnosis code and number of visits recommended over a date range. You may also need pre-authorization from your insurance company. You will be responsible for checking your insurance benefits to be sure that massage services are covered and whether you need pre-authorization, have a deductible, copay, or co insurance amount due. Additionally, if we have not received a prescription from your doctor or pre-authorization from your insurance, prior to your visit, we expect payment in full at the time of service. Please note that insurance will only cover a 60 minute massage. Any additional minutes are not billable and must be paid out of pocket.
